Reliance Jio Q1 FY26 profit jumps 25% to ₹7,110 cr; 5G users cross 213 million

The subscriber base touched 498 million, with 9.9 million net additions. JioAirFiber became the world’s largest FWA provider with 7.4 million subscribers.

Reliance Jio Infocomm reported a 24.8 per cent year-on-year rise in profit growth for the quarter ending June 30, while revenue rose 19 per cent, driven by strong subscriber growth across mobility and homes, increased customer engagement, and growth in the digital services business.

On a year-over-year basis, the subscriber base grew by 1.3 per cent, and ARPU increased by 14.9 per cent to over ₹208.80 per month per subscriber.

Its EBITDA grew to ₹18,135 crore, a quarterly growth of 6.5 per cent and a 23.8 per cent yearly growth, once again attributed to higher revenue and margin improvement.

On a sequential basis, net profit rose 1.2 per cent to ₹7,110 crore on a 3 per cent growth in gross revenue.

The total subscriber base was at around 498 million with sequential growth of 2 per cent. Monthly churn was 1.8 per cent, and net subscriber additions were 9.9 million during the quarter, driven by continued market share gains in mobility and record home connects.

Regarding Rjio’s performance, Mukesh D Ambani, RIL Chairman and Managing Director said, “Jio has scaled newer heights during the quarter including crossing 200 million 5G subscribers and 20 million home connects. Jio AirFiber is now the largest FWA service provider in the world, with a base of 7.4 million subscribers. Our Digital Services business consolidated its market position with a robust financial and operational performance. Through its differentiated offerings across mobility, broadband, enterprise connectivity, cloud and smart homes, Jio has positioned itself as the technology partner of choice for Indian consumers.”

Jiostar platform said it had a 35.5 per cent TV Entertainment viewership share and more than the biggest ever IPL in terms of Viewership and Monetisation. In terms of financials, the platform revenue from operations grew 1 per cent to ₹9,601 crore and EBITDA of ₹1,017 crore. Profits grew 153 per cent to ₹581 crore.

Data traffic

Data traffic hit 54.7 billion, a 5.1 per cent sequential increase and 19.6 per cent on-year growth. Per capita data consumption was 37 GB/ month, and total data traffic grew by 24 per cent annually. Voice traffic remained flat while Jio’s True5G subscribers hit 213 million. JioAirFiber reported a subscriber base of over 7.4 million.

Akash M Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, said, “Our 5G and Home subscriber base crossed the 200 million and 20 million marks respectively. Jio continues to bring next generation services for its users with the launch of JioGames Cloud and JioPC bundle at affordable prices to drive adoption of digital services in India. Jio is extending its leadership in 5G and fixed broadband. This will be pivotal in driving AI adoption in the country”.

During the quarter, Jio also introduced JioPC, a next-generation AI-ready cloud computer that offers affordable and secure cloud computing for any screen, featuring built-in smart apps on a “pay-as-you-go” model. It is currently offered on a monthly subscription with a low upfront cost, no lock-in, and zero maintenance and upgrade costs.
